This course gives employees information and instruction about emergency procedures for building evacuation and ensures that all employees are aware of the operation for the clients emergency evacuation procedures and practice these evacuation in a controlled environment.
FireDirect will conduct a detailed building and external site inspection and ascertain all work practices and issues which need to be dealt with when developing evacuation procedures including; special hazards, disabled employees, special locations
residential buildings, sensitive locations
security considerations and staff numbers
Any risks and hazards found within or near the site which may interfere with occupants’ safety. Appropriate and safe exterior assembly assembly points. The building sites safety and essential services, including:
Location of fire indicator panel/s (FIP)
Location of Warden Intercommunication panel (WIP)
Type of fire detection system
Location of portable fire extinguisher and hose reels
Fire isolated stairs and areas
Exit pathways and doors
The most appropriate exit routes from all areas of the building
Fire warden communication points
From the site inspection and evaluation and discussion with the client, chief fire warden and/or the emergency management committee members FireDirect will prepare a detailed colour A3/A4 laminated plan of the building (compliant with the Australian Standard) for location throughout the premises.
This course trains participants in Workplace Health and Safety requirements in reducing the risk of fire in the workplace, and raises awareness of the dangers that may be posed by fire to people nd property and business continuity.
The fire extinguisher course is aimed at employees (particularly new staff) who require training in relation to Occupational Health and Safety requirements in reducing the risk in the workplace from fire.
This course is designed for personnel in all workplaces. The skills and knowledge gained through this course can be applied in a range of settings including the home and will assist in maintaining a safer workplace.
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to identify the correct extinguisher to use on a particular class of fire and be able to correctly extinguish a fire using the appropriate technique. The unit of competence is Operate portable workplace firefighting equipment.
This course increases participants aware of fire prevention and initial response in the event of fire using quick action guides. It also includes information on common fire causes, how to prevent fires and what to do if there is a fire in their workplace.
This course is designed for personnel in all workplaces. The skills and knowledge gained through
this course can be applied in a range of settings including the home and will assist in maintaining a safer workplace.
